Shrewsbury Electric and Cable Operations (SELCO) has partnered with the Shrewsbury Public Library by contributing a battery-powered leaf blower to the Shrewsbury Public Library’s “Library of Things”. This donation helps promote the benefits of electric lawn equipment and electrification to Shrewsbury residents and raises awareness of SELCO’s battery-powered lawn equipment rebate.
Battery-powered lawn equipment produces zero emissions during operation, making them environmentally friendly. They operate quietly, reducing noise pollution in residential areas. These tools typically have lower operating costs, as there’s no need for gas or oil. They are lighter and easier to handle as well. With the push of a button, the battery-powered blower automatically starts and eliminates the frustration of pulling cords. Maintenance is minimal, with fewer parts to worry about and no need for oil changes. The enhancement of battery technology ensures longer run times and quick recharging, enhancing convenience and efficiency.
The battery-powered leaf blower comes with a short and long attachment and a net piece and is kept in a duffle bag. Borrowers can find a battery and a charger in the bag which can be plugged into a wall outlet to recharge.
