At the May 20, 2025, Annual Town Meeting, a 4.84-acre parcel of town-owned land at 248 North Quinsigamond Avenue was officially designated for SELCO’s use as the future home of a new consolidated facility under Article 31 . This move will allow SELCO to explore modernizing and unifying operations currently spread across three outdated and undersized locations at Parker Road, Municipal Drive, and Town Hall.
Our main facility on Municipal Drive was built in the 1940s, with the last significant upgrades in the 1970s. As Shrewsbury and SELCO’s services have evolved, so too has the need for a modern, efficient space to support growing operational demands.
“Shrewsbury has evolved significantly since 1975, and therefore, the operational needs have increased as well. We’re looking to keep pace,” said SELCO General Manager Christopher Roy.
The project is still in the earliest planning stages—no surveys or designs have been completed yet—and we will welcome community input throughout the process. SELCO still plans to maintain a customer service presence at Town Hall. The building is expected to be operational in 2028.
